In 1994, the Foundation for Valley Haven School was granted 501 c 3 (non-profit) status by the IRS, and all contributions became tax deductible. This tax-exempt foundation has been established to help insure future services to infant and preschool children with developmental disabilities and adults with mental retardation. This living, functioning trust will help to permanently assure the services of Valley Haven School. these funds are set up as an irrevocable trust account. The principal can never be spent but, in the future, these funds will generate enough interest to fund the school in times of economic hardship or future expansions, as well as cover any emergency repairs. In a few years Valley Haven and the community will not have to worry about possible financial    problems in assuring the availability of services.

The Board of Valley Haven decided several years ago that a foundation was necessary because now all local donations are needed to match state and federal funds to purchase new buses or to make major building repairs. They felt that a separate form the school's operation.

Valley Haven has made great strides in recent years toward providing the best possible services and improving the effectiveness of the organization. They have expanded services and upgraded the bus fleet as well as provided four major additions to the building. In spite of these gains, in order to continue to be a leader into the next century and beyond, Valley Haven must have the resources necessary for any emergency or for future expansion needs. Building sound financial reserves is essential to the long-term health of an organization. The foundation is seen as a "Campaign for the Future."

Here is your opportunity to leave a legacy. Your tax-deductible gift will make a difference. These gifts will help Valley Haven provide quality training to hundreds, and even thousands, of infants and adults in the future. Consider making a gift this month.
